Clearly the iphone is more popular. Before the iphone was released the Samsung was more commonly searched for. The first spike in the data was when the first iphone released and from there iphone was on the uprising. The next spike in the iphone graph was when the next iphone, the “iphone 3g” released. In most of the cases the spike is about one month before the phone actually comes out because people want to know what it is going to look like and by the time it comes out most iphone users already know what is new and upgraded from the previous phone. The next iphone, ‘iphone 3gs” was released in june 2009 which is exactly where the spike in the data is. When we fast forward a couple ears we notice that the biggest spike comes in 2012 when the iphone 5 comes out. The iphone 5 was a big step forward from the previous phones because it had a different shape which was very appealing. It was supposed to be easier to handle. Another big spike came in September 2013 when the iphone 5s and 5c came out. These also were a big change because there were colorful colors but more importantly the thumb print password was introduced. The second biggest spike came in September 2014 when the iphone 6 came out. Lots of people liked this phone because again, the shape was different. This phone was much bigger and thinner and people wanted the “new cool phone”.Throughout the united states iphone is more popular in every state. When I narrowed it down to just California. In California, Palm springs had an 82% iphone search and 18% Android. In the sections that California got split up into iphone is the most popular. There was not a section in California that Android was more popular.
